TMWSTW AT 50 Wed, NOV 4

50 YEARS OF THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD

David Bowie's The Man Who Sold The World album was released in the USA on this day 50 YEARS AGO.

The UK and Australian releases were delayed - in fact they did not appear until the following year (April 1971 in the UK). When they appeared, they also had a different cover - the famous dress sleeve.

BOWIE'S DOWN BRUNSWICK

An annual November event paying tribute to David Bowie whilst raising funds for Cancer Council Queensland!.

We dress as David Bowie and walk down Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley, to raise money for Cancer Council! a Bowie dance party 7pm-9pm.

Proceedings finish up with a David Bowie Dance Party.

SCARY MONSTERS AT 40 Sat, SEP 12

40 YEARS OF SCARY MONSTERS

David Bowie's Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) album was released on this day 40 years ago.

The end of the week charts in Australia and New Zealand showed a huge success down under. By September 19, it hit NZ #1 and by September 22, AUS #1.
